Klats Education, together with Young European Ambassadors Ukraine and supported by the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House, held a series of lectures on June 26, 2024, about the EU and opportunities for study, exchanges, and internships for Ukrainian medical students.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) is a dynamic European network that brings together active young people aged 16 to 26 from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, EU member states, and the United Kingdom.
The event consisted of three lectures focused on opportunities for Ukrainian medical students from the EU:— "EU: History, Structure, General Provisions";— "Opportunities for Youth from the European Union";— "The Medical Education System of Austria: The Example of the Medical University of Vienna".
The speakers were:Anna Chala (offline) — a participant in the YEAs initiative and a frequent participant in international exchanges and internships (Erasmus+ "Back to Nature" internship, Erasmus+ youth exchange "Democracy for Youth", "Study Tours to Poland" project).Nikita Kulikovsky (online) — a 5th-year student at the Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Wien), lecturer at the Department of Anatomy and Cell Structure at MedUni Wien, and staff member at the Neurology Department of the General Hospital (AKH) in Vienna.Vladyslav Kravchenko (offline) — a participant in the YEAs initiative and founder of NGO "Klats Education".
The lectures were held in a hybrid format — the offline event took place at the Youth House in Kyiv, and medical students and young doctors from all over the country could join online.
During the lectures, participants learned about:— The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative in Ukraine;
— The "EU NEIGHBOURS EAST" programs;
— The history of the EU, its values, and principles;
— EU-funded opportunities (especially for medical students and young doctors) and where to find them;
— The experience of medical education in the EU from students who have already walked this path;
— The medical education system of Austria, using the Medical University of Vienna as an example.

After the lectures, a quiz was held, and the three winners received pleasant gifts.
The Klats Education team is excited to work towards providing even more opportunities for medical students from Ukraine!
